Ball injury to be assessed
Nottinghamshire will find out on Wednesday morning whether an injury to bowler Jake Ball will keep him out of action for the rest of their day-night County Championship match at home to Kent.
The Welbeck Wizard suffered a scare when he felt a pain in his knee in his third over on Tuesday night and was withdrawn as a precaution.
The worst case scenario would be that he would have to sit out the last two days of the match at Trent Bridge and could miss out on Saturday's Royal London One-Day Cup Final against Surrey at Lord's.
England will also be watching the situation with concern ahead of their Test series with South Africa.
The injury to Ball was a blow on a day of dominance for Notts against Kent as Steven Mullaney's 168 helped them to a first innings total of 371, a lead of 191.
And, the visitors had been reduced to 105 for 4 at the close in their second innings to leave the hosts as overwhelming favourites for a victory.
But, Wednesday could be a frustrating one for Peter Moores' side as heavy rain is predicted to last all day in Nottingham.
