Armed Police Arrest Man And Recover Axe
Armed police have arrested a man and recovered an axe after swiftly responding to a report of a disturbance in Selston yesterday (Sunday 19 July 2020).
Officers were called to an address in Lilley Close at 10.50am.
They swiftly arrived on scene and arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill, affray and causing criminal damage.
No reports were received of any injuries but some damage to vehicles was reported.
The suspect remains in police custody.
Inspector Mark Dickson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Officers acted quickly and professionally following this report and were swiftly able to take the suspect into custody.
"As our swift response to this incident shows, Nottinghamshire Police treats weapon-enabled crime extremely seriously and will act on intelligence to ensure that our communities remain safe."
