Mansfield 103.2 Sport
3rd January, 2010 - Mansfield 103.2 Sport - Even Better in 2010!!
What a year 2010 promises to be for local sport!
And, you'll be able to follow it all every step of the way
here on Mansfield 103.2 as we make
our sports coverage even better.
Mansfield Town
are well in the hunt for promotion back into the Football League and Mansfield
103.2 will continue to be fully behind the Stags like no other radio station.
We'll have full match commentary of every away fixture
whilst there will be the best coverage anywhere of home games with regular,
in-depth reports keeping you in touch with what is happening at Field Mill if
you cannot make it to the match.
And, proving that we are the number one for the Stags bar
none, we'll continue to have the biggest names in the press box.
Stags legends Richard Barker and Kevin Bird will be part of
our reporting team, as well as members of the current squad including Craig
Armstrong, Anthony Peters, Gary Mills, Blair Sturrock and Paul Heckingbottom.
We will also have the best pre-match build up with
interviews galore and the post-match reaction first.
In addition to this, for the first time ever, Mansfield
103.2 will be bringing you regular reports and post-match interviews from all Nottingham
Forest games – home and away – as
they aim for the Premier League.
We are the only commercial station to offer this coverage
and we are extremely proud to have Forest on board to
complement our Stags service.
We will also keep you in touch with the latest happenings
with Derby County
and Notts County
to make it the most comprehensive coverage anywhere of professional football in
our area.
It also promises to be an exciting year for the rest of our
local sides – and we'll be covering them all the way.
Hucknall Town,
Glapwell and Rainworth Miners Welfare are all riding high in their respective
leagues and gunning for promotion.
The West Notts College Street Crusader will be at their
grounds, plus Shirebrook Town
and Teversal, throughout the season bringing updates and interviews from the
local Non-League match of the day.
And, with our comprehensive round-up of the Central Midlands
League and East Midlands Counties League, we will make sure football at all
levels is covered.
We'll also be following our rugby union sides with regular
reports of Mansfield RFC's matches, the latest from Nottingham's
Championship campaign and the results from Ashfield, Meden Vale and Ollerton.
The Nottingham Panthers are going for Elite League ice
hockey glory and we'll be covering them even more during 2010 whilst also
keeping you Sheffield Steelers fans in our area up-to-date with their progress
as well.
And, in basketball, the Mansfield Giants are looking for
title triumph in both the men's and women's game – again, Mansfield 103.2 will
be with them every step of the way and cheering them on.
We'll also keep an eye on the rest of our local sporting
heroes as the Birchall Brothers aim to defend their World Sidecar Championship
title and golfers Greg Owen and Oliver Wilson begin their 2010 seasons.
There's also Chris Walker in the British Superbikes,
swimmers Rebecca Adlington, Sam Hynd and Charlotte Henshaw and everyone else
who makes a splash in the sporting world over the next twelve months.
The only way to start your sporting weekend, Sport on Friday,
returns bringing you more interviews, competitions and previews than anyone
else.
The main focus of the programme will, of course, be
Mansfield Town but Nottingham Forest and Derby County will have regular
coverage as well whilst all of our local sides – whatever their sport – will
also feature heavily in what is one of the best sports shows anywhere.
There are also a number of new programmes in the pipeline
for 2010 – and we think Mansfield Town
fans will be delighted with what we have in store for them.
And, that's not forgetting our comprehensive daily sports bulletins
at 7.30am, 8.30am, 4.30pm
and 5.30pm along with regular sports
updates in our hourly news bulletins.
The Mansfield
103.2 website will also bring you up-to-date with all the latest sports stories
– as well as a full results and fixtures service.
All these reasons are why Mansfield
103.2 is the only place to be for local sport in 2010.
Join us for the ride – it's bound to be a thrilling one.
